Authoritative articles
How explicit notices distinguish authoritative return moe material from the wiki's ordinary documentation.
The return moe wiki uses an authoritative designation to distinguish a limited class of primary-source articles from its ordinary documentation. A page has this status only when it displays an Authoritative article notice. The notice means that return moe publishes the current article itself as an authoritative source for the lore, worldbuilding, or conceptual framework within its stated scope.
Most articles are descriptive
Most of the wiki aggregates, organizes, and documents information published elsewhere. Those articles are reference summaries: they should identify their sources, preserve attribution, and describe what those sources say. Appearing on this wiki does not by itself turn a claim into return moe lore, an official return moe position, or a primary source.
This remains true when an article concerns return moe, appears in the Characters category, or has a close connection to an authoritative article. Categories, ownership, origin, and affiliation do not confer authoritative status on their own.
The designation is explicit
Only an article that displays the authoritative notice should be treated as authoritative. The status must not be inferred from its subject or from similar pages. In particular:
- a character that did not originate with return moe is not made authoritative merely by receiving an article here;
- a character created by return moe is not automatically authoritative on the wiki; and
- one tagged character, worldbuilding article, or conceptual framework does not make related, untagged articles authoritative.
Another work may instead be the intended source of record. For example, if a character is defined primarily through a visual novel, the work itself may remain the controlling source for that character. A wiki article about the character may or may not receive the authoritative designation; only the visible notice resolves that question.
Scope and revision
Within its stated scope, an authoritative article records the current return moe account. For claims about the branch that return moe maintains, a character article such as Soraya is the source of record when incidental or inconsistent chatbot responses, temporary prompts or model behavior, generated depictions, third-party summaries, and untagged wiki prose differ from it.
This authority is evidentiary and branch-relative: it establishes what return moe has incorporated into its own continuity. It does not make alternate interpretations, fan-maintained branches, or derivative subjects less real or less valid within their own informational lineages.
For a framework such as the Informational Ontology Framework (return moe), the designation means that the article states return moe’s current position within the boundaries it identifies. It does not make that position an academic consensus, and it does not attribute the framework to works or researchers discussed as influences.
The designation does not make the page immutable or eliminate normal sourcing. External factual claims still need appropriate references, and an article can identify another work as controlling for part of its subject. Reviewed edits to an authoritative article can clarify, extend, or revise the official account; its history records earlier revisions.
English is the source edition of the wiki. A Brazilian Portuguese page records the English revision it translates, and the English article controls if a translation is outdated or differs from that revision.
